I am Esra Yaman, Counsellor&Therapist based in London, UK. As a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy), I provide face-to-face and online therapy services worldwide in English and Turkish. You can contact me at esrayaman@gmail.com

The therapeutic relationship with my clients is based on the Person-Centred approach and Attachment-Based Psychotherapy. My approach is focused on creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment.

The Person-Centered approach, developed by psychologist Carl Rogers, emphasizes the importance of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness in the therapeutic relationship. This approach recognizes that the client is the expert on their own experiences and values, and the therapist’s role is to facilitate their growth and self-understanding. Using the person-centred approach, I focus on creating an empathetic and non-judgmental therapeutic environment in which the client feels heard, understood, and accepted. This involves active listening, reflection, and validation of the client’s experiences and emotions.

Attachment-Based Psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the impact of early attachment relationships on our current patterns of behaviour and relationships. This approach recognizes that our early experiences with caregivers shape our expectations and beliefs about relationships, and can influence our ability to form healthy attachments as adults. I help clients explore and understand how their early experiences and relationships may have shaped their attachment style and impacted their current relationships and patterns of behaviour. Through this exploration, clients can gain insight into their patterns and make positive changes to improve their relationships and well-being.

By combining these approaches, I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is both supportive and empowering, helping clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships and to work towards positive change and growth.

Overall, my goal is to create a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship that empowers clients to grow, learn, and heal. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and walks of life and provide both short-term and long-term therapy options.

I have been working with a wide range of subjects such as childhood abuse, sexual abuse, attachment issues, relationship difficulties, trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, OCD, eating disorders, career planning, personal development and so on.

I completed CPCAB (Counseling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Level 2 Certificate of Counseling Skills, Level 3 Certificate in Counseling Studies and Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counseling. During my one-year placement, I worked with adult clients referred by NHS at The Awareness Centre, London.

Currently, I am studying CPCAB Level 5 ‘Diploma in Integrating Attachment Based Psychotherapy into Clinical Practice’. I am also a certified Life Coach and NLP practitioner which allows me to offer a more holistic approach to my clients’ needs.
